The ultimate pub game
Starting at The Tally Ho, players ‘drop in for a quick half’ at as many pubs as possible before someone calls “time!” at Ye Olde Lamb and Flag.
Requiring a poker face and a clear head, Inns and Taverns is an original game of skill and bluff in which players try to second-guess and then trump an opponent’s secret bid. Only if successful may they move around the board from one pub to the next. The first player to reach a pub collects a beer mat from that pub. The player with the most beer mats when “time!” is called wins the game.
British pubs are steeped in tradition and history, and there is a story behind each one of their signs. We have enclosed a brief history of the 25 signs illustrating the Inns and Taverns game board as an introduction to this fascinating subject.
